Melkweg

De melkweg is de naam voor het spiraalvormig sterrenstelsel of spiraalstelsel van middelmatige grootte, waarin ons zonnestelsel zich bevindt. Vanaf de aarde zien we het van binnenuit als lichtende band die de hemel omspant, mits het donker genoeg is.
